Quick take
A 10-foot radius hand cast net with stainless steel sinkers for catching live bait in salt water.
Best for
- Capturing live baitfish for saltwater fishing
- Anglers who want self-sufficiency bait collection
- Flats and shallow saltwater where cast nets work best
Skip if
- You use pre-packaged live or frozen bait
- You fish freshwater streams where cast nets are illegal
Strengths
- Stainless steel sinkers sink quickly and don't tangle mesh
- Reinforced nylon mesh handles repeated throws and snags
- 5/8 inch mesh holds small baitfish while letting fry escape
Trade-offs
- Requires practice to cast and retrieve effectively
- 10 foot radius limits use to water deeper than 8 feet
- Wet cast net is heavy and awkward to carry
