Quick take
Eight 4.5 or 6 in soft stick baits with a slender profile and erratic darting action for bass and pike.
The 4.5-inch Arkansas Shiner Slug-Go is a soft plastic stick bait for bass, packed eight to a bag. A slight rod-tip twitch sends it darting side to side with a longer glide than many soft jerkbaits. Anglers rig it weightless or on a wide-gap hook, and it falls slowly when fish are skittish.
Best for
- Wacky rigs on a drop shot hook
- Twitchy topwater-like retrieves
- Finesse situations in clear water
Skip if
- You need a creature-shaped bait; this is straight
- You want maximum durability; soft baits tear quickly
Strengths
- Slender shape and light weight create erratic movement
- Original soft plastic formulation attracts fish
- Made in the USA with quality control
Trade-offs
- Soft plastic tears and needs replacement after a few fish
- Light weight makes windy casts less accurate
- Not weighted; you must add weight to cast far

- Freshwater
- Saltwater

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
