Quick take
A 2.5 in topwater popper with feathered tail and scale pattern that creates surface disturbance to attract large bass.
This 2.5-inch Impact Crush popper in the Silver Side finish is made for topwater strikes from bass, trout and pike. Its tail hook gives a pulsing movement when the lure pauses, and the retrieve throws surface water for surface commotion. It works over shallow cover where that kind of disturbance is wanted.
Best for
- Early morning and evening topwater bass sessions
- Attracting strikes from aggressive fish in shallow water
- Anglers who want a proven popper design for tournaments
Skip if
- You fish deep water where topwater won't reach
- You prefer silent presentations in pressured water
Strengths
- Popping action displaces water noisily to trigger strikes
- Feathered tail provides lifelike pulsating movement
- Scale pattern and 3D eyes create realistic appearance
Trade-offs
- Topwater fishing requires active technique and patience
- Visible surface disturbance can spook cautious fish
- Feathered tail loses effectiveness as feathers wear

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
