Quick take
Durable soft plastic wax worm larvae imitations infused with attractant scent, sized for trout and panfish.
This is the glow color of Lunkerhunt's wax worm bait jar: a resealable jar of tiny soft plastic larvae infused with a fish-attracting scent. The small 9 gram jar slips into a tackle box or pocket, and the baits suit rigging on a small hook for bass, trout and pike. A glow finish gives anglers a visible option for low-light conditions.
Best for
- Trout in streams and lakes
- Finesse presentations on light line
- When live bait is unavailable or restricted
Skip if
- You prefer live worms for maximum scent dispersal
- You are fishing in water where soft plastics snag
Strengths
- Will not dry out or degrade during use
- Scent attractant adds an advantage over plain plastic
- Durable enough for multiple fish per bait
Trade-offs
- Lacks the movement of live worms in the water
- Scent dispersal is slower than live bait
- Glow color may spook fish in very clear water
