Quick take
Carbon steel baitholder hooks with double barbs on the shank to keep live bait in place through aggressive strikes.
This is a 100-count pack of size 8 red baitholder hooks from LURELINK. The long shank carries two barbs that help keep live bait such as worms, minnows or shrimp on the hook. The carbon steel build and needle point suit small panfish like bluegill and perch, and the pack also fits trout and walleye outings.
Best for
- Live worms and minnows under floats
- Bottom rigs with cut bait or dough bait
- Panfish to mid-size game fish
Skip if
- You plan to release fish regularly; circle hooks cause less internal damage
- You fish soft plastics; use a worm hook
Strengths
- Double barbs on the shank grip soft bait securely during the cast
- Wide size range covers panfish to larger freshwater and saltwater species
- High-carbon steel provides strength across tough saltwater use
Trade-offs
- Barbs make removal difficult when deeply hooked
- Rust forms quickly on carbon steel in saltwater without rinsing
- The broad hook design is not ideal for ultra-light finesse fishing

- Freshwater
- Saltwater

- Live bait
