Quick take

Pre-tied feather rigs with five hooks each, ready to fish for mackerel, herring, pollock and cod.

Best for

  • Shore and beach casting
  • Mackerel and pollock in rough ground
  • Anglers who don't have time to tie rigs

Skip if

  • You fish in calm water where unweighted rigs drift too slowly
  • You need single-hook rigs for larger fish

Strengths

  • Rigs come ready to fish; no tying needed on the water
  • Feather lures and glow beads attract fish in low-light conditions
  • Swivel snap makes weight and lure changes quick

Trade-offs

  • Five small hooks catch and hold more weed than single-hook rigs
  • Feathers fray and lose their shape after a few fish
  • Branch lines are short; bigger baits may need longer leaders
