Quick take
A pre-tied walleye trolling rig with a Mustad Slow Death hook and Smile Blade spinner, ready to fish with live bait.
Mack's Lure Smile Blade Super Slow Death is a pre-tied walleye rig built on a size #1 Super Slow Death hook, with a 1.1-inch Smile Blade and a 72-inch leader. The hook's deeper offset bend is designed to keep the blade and a threaded nightcrawler turning at slow trolling speeds, the way anglers fish it along breaks and basin edges. It suits walleye anglers who want a ready-to-fish rig for slow nightcrawler trolling.
Best for
- Trolling nightcrawlers for walleye over deep structure
- Anglers who prefer pre-tied rigs over building their own
- Summer walleye fishing when baits spin and trigger strikes
Skip if
- You fish spinning or casting presentations; this is for trolling
- You prefer to build custom rigs
Strengths
- Mustad Super Slow Death hook design causes bait to spin and attract walleye
- Smile Blade adds flash and vibration to the presentation
- Pre-tied construction saves time and ensures consistent rigging
Trade-offs
- Fixed 72-inch leader length may not suit all conditions or presentations
- Pre-tied design limits customization of hook size or blade selection
- Monofilament leader is visible to walleye in clear water
