Quick take
A pre-tied weedless ned rig weighing 1/16 ounce in green pumpkin, ready to attach a soft plastic for crappie and panfish.
The Matzuo Weedless Ned Rig is a 1/16 oz rig in a green pumpkin finish, sold as a four-pack. Its spear point and weedless design suit anglers fishing crappie and other panfish around brush and weeds. Each rig weighs about 9 grams and measures roughly one inch on each side, which fits light panfish setups. It suits anglers who want ready-to-fish rigs for shallow cover.
Best for
- Finesse fishing for crappie and panfish in cover
- Light tackle fishing in shallow lakes
- Anglers who prefer pre-tied rigs over knot tying
Skip if
- You fish only open water where weedless is unnecessary
- You want heavier rigs for deeper water
Strengths
- Weedless design swims through grass and brush without hanging
- Ned head orientation allows true horizontal swimming
- Pre-tied saves time and reduces line twist
Trade-offs
- 1/16-ounce weight limits casting distance on light line
- Limited to small baits and finesse applications
- Pre-tied rig may not have your preferred eye or hook type
