Quick take

A 6.6 ft 2-weight fly rod with an IM7 carbon blank, designed for small trout streams and light presentations.

This 6'6" two-weight fly rod breaks down into four pieces and is shaped for small streams where a light line and short casts matter. It has a carbon fiber blank, a cork grip and a fast action, and it was designed with women anglers in mind. It suits someone who wants a compact trout rod that packs away easily.

Best for

  • Trout on small creeks with tight spaces
  • Fine tippet presentations on clear streams
  • Anglers who prefer a lightweight rod for all-day fishing

Skip if

  • You plan to throw large saltwater flies
  • You need a rod rated for 2-handed spey casting

Strengths

  • A-helical taper delivers power throughout the cast on light line
  • Slim blank keeps weight to a minimum for long days
  • Fast action shoots tight loops for accuracy on short casts

Trade-offs

  • A 2-weight lacks power for large trout or wind
  • Four-piece construction may show connection points over time
  • Light line rating limits effectiveness in heavy current
