Quick take

Moderate-fast action nymph fly rod with carbon fiber construction and cork handle for fine tippet work.

This 10-foot, 3-weight fly rod is built for nymphing, with a slim carbon fiber blank meant for fine tippets and small flies. It breaks down into four pieces for easy carrying and has a cork handle with an aluminum reel seat. Anglers chasing trout or bass with a light, drifting presentation will find it a natural fit.

Best for

  • Euro-style nymphing with tight line tactics
  • Small to medium trout streams
  • Fishing with small nymphs and light tippets

Skip if

  • You fish large rivers and heavy flows
  • You prefer softer action rods

Strengths

  • IM10 carbon fiber reduces weight by 20 percent
  • Moderate fast action suits nymph presentation and small flies
  • Slim taper engineered for light line and fine control

Trade-offs

  • Moderate fast action less forgiving with delicate presentations
