Quick take
Fluorocarbon leader line rated 15 lb test in a convenient wheel, nearly invisible in water.
This clear fluorocarbon line is sold as a 15-pound test, a size that suits leaders and general line for many freshwater species. Fluorocarbon's refractive index sits close to that of water, which is why anglers often reach for it in clear water. Each spool holds about 27 yards, enough for several rigs or a fresh leader section.
Best for
- Leader or tippet material for spinning or trolling

- Finicky fish in bright conditions
Skip if
- You need maximum casting distance; monofilament casts farther
