Quick take

Japanese hard tackle box with multiple compartments for organizing lures, reels, and terminal tackle.

This Meiho Versus hard tackle box in Smoke BK is a satchel-style case with an ABS resin lid and an impact-resistant co-polymer bottom. It measures about 14.96 x 10.63 x 4.72 inches and weighs 8.8 ounces, with dividers and a wormproof build for soft plastics. It suits anglers going after black bass, trout or sea bass who want lures and small reels in one carry case.

Best for

  • Anglers with large tackle collections
  • Shore and boat fishing with mixed tackle types
  • Long-term storage without weather exposure

Skip if

  • You need portable lightweight storage for walking anglers
  • You fish in conditions where a sealed soft bag is better

Strengths

  • Rigid ABS resin resists crushing and damage
  • Compartment dividers prevent lures and tackle from tangling
  • Wormproof design protects soft plastic lures

Trade-offs

  • 40 cm size and hard plastic make it heavier and less portable than soft bags
  • Compartment system is fixed; cannot adjust organization to different tackle types
  • Plastic hinges and latches can loosen after heavy use
