Quick take

A compact waterproof fly box with a clear lid and multi-type design that fits snugly into fly vests.

The Meiho VW-2010ND-M is a slim, clear polycarbonate case with two compartments, sized at about 8.3 by 5.7 by 1.6 inches. It is waterproof and washable, and it is slim enough to slip into a vest pocket. Anglers who carry flies or small lures can see what is inside at a glance without opening the lid.

Best for

  • Fly anglers who change flies frequently during the day
  • Anglers who want to see flies without opening the box
  • Travel and packable fly fishing setups

Skip if

  • You need multiple compartments for organization
  • You fish with very large saltwater flies

Strengths

  • Polycarbonate lid is clear, strong and durable
  • Waterproof construction protects flies in rain or spray
  • Compact size fits vest pockets and travel packs

Trade-offs

  • Two compartments offer limited organization
  • Single-compartment design requires sorting on the water
  • Clear lid allows sun damage to feathers over time
