Quick take
A bulky 4.5-inch creature bait with a ribbed body for controlled sinking and a flexible tail that moves with retrieve speed.
The Missile Baits D Bomb in Love Bug is a 4.5-inch soft plastic creature bait with a ribbed body that displaces a lot of water and sinks on a straight fall. Its tails sail when it sinks and flap when it is moved quickly, and a slimmer body at the hook point helps hook sets while a thick head holds the bait on the hook. Its nose stays intact through heavy cover, which suits anglers punching thick vegetation.
Best for
- Flipping and pitching heavy cover
- Drop-shot presentations over structure
- Bass and snook in murky water
Skip if
- You fish open water where finesse is needed
- You prefer lures that cast far on light tackle
Strengths
- Ribbed body displaces water for realistic fall
- Head design holds the hook securely in heavy cover
- Tail action changes from sailing to flapping as retrieve speed varies
Trade-offs
