Quick take
A 12 inch floating landing net with a rubber-coated mesh that does not snag hooks or damage fish.
This is a collapsible landing net with a 12-inch round hoop, a rubber-coated mesh with 0.5-inch openings and an aluminum handle. Foam padding on the hoop keeps it afloat if it drops in the water, and a locking switch retracts the frame for carrying. It suits boat, kayak and canoe anglers who want a lightweight scoop net for catch and release in fresh or salt water.
Best for
- Kayak and boat fishing where drop-ins are possible
- Catch and release fishing
- Saltwater and freshwater fishing
Skip if
- You fish very large fish; a larger net may be needed
Strengths
- Rubber-coated mesh is gentle on fish scales and does not snag
- EVA foam hoop floats if dropped in water
- Locking switch simplifies folding and deployment
Trade-offs
- Fixed pole is shorter than telescoping poles for reach
- 12 inch hoop limits the size of fish it can land
- Folding mechanism adds weight and complexity
Fishing fit
- Water
- Saltwater
- Freshwater
