Quick take
3 oz no-roll sinkers that hold position on bottom in rivers, streams and coastal shallows.
This is a two-piece set of 3-ounce oval sinkers cast in lead. The flat-sided no-roll style is meant for holding bait in place on the bottom, which suits current-swept rivers and surf. Each piece is small, about 3 by 2 inches in its packaging, so a pair fits easily in a tackle box.
Best for
- Fishing heavier current in rivers and tidal areas
- Bottom presentations with larger live baitfish
- Keeping rigs stationary during strong flow
Skip if
- You need lighter weights for finesse presentations
- You're casting repeatedly
Strengths
- 3 oz weight handles moderate to strong current
- Oval no-roll shape resists sliding downstream
- Heavy enough for deeper water presentations
Trade-offs
- Only 2-pack means limited supply; good for testing but buy multiple packs for regular use
- 3 oz is heavy on ultralight line
- Lead material has environmental concerns
Fishing fit
- Water
- Freshwater
- Saltwater
- Techniques
- Bottom fishing
- Live bait
