Quick take
A size 2/0 long-shank baitholder hook with shank barbs that keep worms and soft bait from sliding down.
This Mustad long-shank beak hook in a 2/0 size has a gold finish and comes 100 to a pack. Extra barbs on the shank hold bait in place and help cover the point, and the reversed beak point is set to meet a fish's mouth. It suits anglers who fish worms, crab or cut bait on a sinker or ledger rig.
Best for
- Worms and nightcrawlers on bobber rigs
- Bottom fishing with cut bait
- Long-shank applications on all sizes of fish
Skip if
- You plan to release most fish; circle hooks are swallowed less
- You fish soft plastics; use EWG worm hooks
Strengths
- Shank barbs hold soft bait in place through casts
- Down-turned eye suits snelling and simple knots
- Long shank good for worms and large baits
Trade-offs
