Quick take

A size 6/0 circle hook with 4X strong wire and wide gap, designed for live-bait presentations and catch-and-release.

The Mustad Demon Offset Circle in size 6/0 is a circle hook with an offset point and a ringed eye, finished in black nickel. It suits anglers who fish live bait for larger saltwater species, and its curved shape is built for catch and release. The range runs from 5/0 through 12/0, so the size can be matched to the bait.

Best for

  • Live-bait fishing for tarpon, marlin, and large saltwater species
  • Catch-and-release fishing where deep hooking is a concern
  • Anglers drifting or trolling live bait in deep water

Skip if

  • You fish for panfish where 6/0 is oversized
  • You prefer inline hooks for weighted rigs

Strengths

  • 4X strong wire handles giant fish without straightening
  • Circle hook design hooks fish in the corner of the mouth
  • Wide gap accommodates large, live baits and natural presentation

Trade-offs

  • At 6/0, the hook is oversized for most freshwater species
  • Wide gap requires larger baits than inline hooks
  • Kirbed point may be harder to set than straight-point circles
