Quick take
A water-resistant tackle backpack that holds two utility boxes and converts between backpack and sling configurations.
This Night Cat tackle backpack is a 34-liter nylon daypack in black camo that can be worn as a backpack or switched to a sling or crossbody carry. A side rod holder and front MOLLE webbing keep a rod, pliers and clippers within reach, while three compartments and five pockets organize utility boxes, line and small gear. The water-resistant shell and mesh-covered foam back panel suit long walks to the bank or boat.
Best for
- Hiking to remote fishing spots while keeping hands free
- Kayak fishing where immediate tackle access is needed
- Bank and wading anglers who value portability and organization
Skip if
- You fish from a boat where fixed tackle storage is preferred
- You need waterproof protection for sensitive gear
Strengths
- Molle design on front accepts additional storage pouches for pliers and tools
- Unique strap switches between backpack, sling, and chest configurations
- Rod holder keeps rods organized and accessible during travel
Trade-offs
- High-density nylon is water-resistant but not fully waterproof
- Backpack shape is uncomfortable for long-distance hiking
