Quick take
Floating collapsible landing net in rubber-coated mesh, sized for catch-and-release fishing in fresh and saltwater.
This is a folding landing net with a telescopic aluminum handle that extends to 35 inches and collapses to about 16.9 inches. The triangular hoop uses rubber-coated mesh, which is gentler on fish for catch and release, and two floating tubes keep the net on the surface if it drops in. It packs down small enough for a backpack, trunk or kayak, so it suits trout, bass and steelhead anglers who wade or fish from a boat.
Best for
- Kayak and boat fishing on lakes and rivers
- Catch-and-release fishing for bass, trout, and salmon
- Anglers who value portable and compact equipment
Skip if
- You fish large saltwater species; use a larger boat net
- You need instant access; folded nets are slower to deploy
Strengths
- Rubber-coated mesh does not harm fish scales or fins
- Triangular frame is rigid and resists twisting
- Floats keep the net from sinking if dropped overboard
Trade-offs
- 35-inch reach limits netting fish in deep water
- Aluminum handle can ding or dent on rocks
- Folding mechanism is slow compared to fixed nets
