Quick take
A trolling sinker with stainless wire feeler that bounces off rocks and cover while drifting live-bait rigs.
This 3 oz Rock-Runner Bottom Bouncer from Northland Tackle is a trolling sinker built around a 10-inch stainless wire feeler. The wire helps it slide over rocks, logs and weeds while you drift or troll live-bait snells, spinner rigs, spoons or floating minnowbaits. It suits walleye anglers working the bottom, and the heavier weight helps keep rigs down in deeper or faster water.
Best for
- Walleye trolling with live-bait snells and spinners
- Drifting over rocky bottom without snagging
- Anglers fishing in lakes with mixed cover
Skip if
- You fish grass beds; feeler may tangle in weeds
- You prefer fixed sinkers over bouncers
Strengths
- Wire feeler glides over rocks, logs, and stumps
- Design prevents snagging on bottom cover
- Professional tournament design proven on walleye trail
Trade-offs
- Wire feeler can tangle if not managed carefully
- Designed specifically for walleye; less versatile for other species
- Requires live-bait rigs to be fully effective
