Quick take
Three stinger hooks with 12 lb leader and snap connector, clipped to jigs and spoons for extra hookups.
The Northland Sting'r Hook is a short trailer rig that clips onto a jig, spinner or spoon to catch fish that nip at the tail instead of taking the whole bait. This 2-inch red version pairs a size 10 treble hook with a 12 lb monofilament leader and a fast-snap connector, and comes as a pack of three. It suits walleye anglers jigging over clean bottoms, and it is not meant for dragging through weeds or snaggy cover.
Best for
- Walleye and sauger on jigging setups
- Adding a second hook to spinners or spoons
- Hooking live bait or minnows as teasers
Skip if
- You fish heavy weeds or wood
- You want to reduce snags
Strengths
- Fast-snap connector allows quick bait changes
- Treble hook increases hookup odds
- 12 lb leader strong enough for most fresh and saltwater fish
Trade-offs
- Stinger hook snags easily in weeds and moss
- May over-hook fish with multiple treble points
- Requires clean bottom for best use
