Quick take

A hard jointed swimbait with an S-curve body and treble hooks, sized for pike and trout.

This six-piece pack gives you 3.5-inch multi-jointed swimbaits with an ABS plastic body and two size 6 treble hooks on each bait. The segmented body is designed to swim with an S-shaped action, and the pack is sized for pike, perch, trout and bass in freshwater or saltwater. It suits anglers who want a compact, easy-to-handle bait for everyday pike and panfish fishing.

Best for

  • Pike and musky in weedy lakes and rivers
  • Trout in deeper pools and current
  • Erratic retrieves with pauses to trigger aggressive strikes

Skip if

  • You fish around dense weeds that tangle treble hooks
  • You want a lure that swims slowly without active rod work

Strengths

  • Jointed body creates an S-curve that mimics an injured baitfish
  • Heavy plastic body and treble hooks make long casts possible
  • Colorful finishes help fish locate the bait in stained or low-light water

Trade-offs

  • Multi-jointed designs can kink or come apart after repeated hard strikes or catches
  • Size and weight mean using sturdier rod and reel than small spinners need
  • Treble hooks snag readily in weeds and log jams

About this type

A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.

Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.

Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
