Quick take
A versatile 10-11 weight fly rod with moderate-fast action, built from graphite for responsiveness and durability.
This Okuma SLV is a 9-foot, four-piece fly rod built for 10-weight line, which suits larger flies and bigger fish. Its graphite blank has a moderate-fast action, and the Full Wells grip, stainless steel snake guides and aluminum reel seat round out the build. The four-piece design packs down easily for travel.
Best for
- Salmon and steelhead on large rivers
- Pike and musky in freshwater
- Anglers casting large flies and strong wind
Skip if
- You fish small streams requiring delicate presentations
- You target panfish or trout on light flies
Strengths
- Moderate-fast action loads easily and casts large flies
- Four-piece design breaks down for travel
- Graphite construction balances sensitivity and durability
Trade-offs
