Quick take
Collapsible mesh trap basket with spring-loaded doors for keeping live fish, shrimp and crab during fishing.
This collapsible metal fish basket from OperSeven is a round cage about 16.5 inches long and 13 inches wide, with spring-loaded doors at the top and bottom. It is meant to keep a catch alive in the water while you keep fishing, and the 2-inch mesh openings let water pass through. It folds down for carrying, which suits pier and bank trips where you hike in light.
Best for
- Live bait storage during a fishing trip
- Keeping fresh-caught fish alive on shore
- Pier and dock fishing
Skip if
- You use a cooler for storage
- You fish with dead bait only
Strengths
- Spring-loaded doors open easily for bait access
- Mesh design maintains water circulation around bait
- Metal construction is durable and corrosion-resistant
