Quick take
Short-shank size 1/0 live bait hooks with a super needle point and corrosion-resistant black chrome finish.
The Owner 1/0 Gorilla Light is a short-shank live bait hook with a super needle point and black chrome finish, sized for smaller baits such as anchovies. Its forged shank suits nose-hooking baitfish for king mackerel rigs and natural baits for snapper and sheepshead. Each pack holds seven hooks, and the wide gap also fits saltwater streamers.
Best for
- Live baitfish in saltwater environments
- Anglers who want a strong, short-shank design
- All-purpose bait fishing
Skip if
- You need a forgiving hook; the super needle point requires careful hook setting
- You are fishing very soft-mouthed fish; a loop eye may suit better
Strengths
- The XXX-strong forged shank resists bending under heavy fish
- The super needle point penetrates quickly
- Black chrome resists saltwater rust
Trade-offs
- The needle point is sharp and demands respect when handling
- Only seven per pack means limited spares
- The short shank leaves little room to grip the hook when removing it

- Saltwater
- Techniques
- Live bait
