Quick take

A 4-pack of 5/0 black chrome octopus hooks with super needle points for rigging live bait in saltwater and freshwater bottom fishing.

The Owner 5115 hook in 5/0 comes four to a pack, in a black chrome finish with a super needle point. Its octopus shape suits rigging live bait such as nightcrawlers, minnows, crabs or shrimp for walleye, panfish, surf or bay fishing.

Best for

  • Live bait fishing for saltwater species
  • Bottom fishing for catfish and other bottom dwellers
  • Setting the hook quickly in tough mouths

Skip if

  • You fish soft plastics; use worm hooks
  • You need smaller hook sizes for panfish

Strengths

  • Super needle point penetrates even tough jaw structure
  • Size 5/0 is large enough for substantial baits
  • Black chrome finish resists corrosion in saltwater

Trade-offs

  • 5/0 is too large for most freshwater species
  • Octopus hook pattern limits it to live bait rigging
  • Black chrome can still rust with heavy saltwater exposure
