Quick take
Owner SSW super needle-point hook sized 1/0 with 40-pack quantity, designed for live minnows and night crawlers.
The Owner 5315 SSW is a bait hook built for live bait such as nightcrawlers and minnows, with a reversed bend and a needle point. Its black chrome finish and up-eye forged shank suit anglers rigging for walleye and panfish, and the same hook handles crabs, shrimp and blood worms for surf and bay fishing.
Best for
- Night crawlers for walleye on weighted rigs
- Live minnows under slip bobbers for panfish
- Catfish on live or cut bait in slower water
Skip if
- You fish artificial lures exclusively
- You prefer treble hooks for multiple hook-up points
Strengths
- Super needle point penetrates with minimal force on soft fish mouths
- Up-eye aids snelling and improves hook angle on the take
- 40-pack quantity supports high-volume fishing trips
Trade-offs
- Super needle point dulls quickly on hard-jawed catfish
- Up-eye design complicates knots; requires skill to rig correctly
- Size 1/0 is relatively small; limits use to panfish and medium walleye
