Quick take
Fine-wire size 1 hooks with offset needle points for drop-shot rigs and finesse techniques.
The Owner Mosquito is a size 1 black chrome hook with a fine-wire forged shank and an offset needle point, built for light line. It is made for the down shot rig, and anglers also use it to nose-hook soft plastics, rig small live baits and fish wacky worm. Its self-setting point suits windy days and turbulent water, where keeping a tight line is hard.
Best for
- Drop-shot rigs for bass and walleye
- Wacky-rigged soft plastics
- Nose-hooking small live baits
Skip if
- You fish heavy cover that needs stouter hooks
- You prefer larger hook patterns
Strengths
- Fine wire penetrates easily on light line
- Self-setting design works in turbulent water
- Offset point aids hook-ups on the strike
Trade-offs
