Quick take
A 3X-strong single hook with a vacuum-tinned finish, sized to replace treble hooks on large saltwater baits.
The Owner 2/0 single replacement hook is a gray high carbon steel hook with a needle point, made for swapping out trebles on large saltwater baits. Each pack holds six hooks, and a vacuum-tinned finish helps guard the hook against corrosion. Its Zo-Wire construction is built for big tuna and giant trevally work, where the thinner wire is meant to penetrate well.
Best for
- Large baitfish rigged for big tuna, giant trevally, and striped bass
- Replacing trebles on natural mackerel and mullet baits
- Safer handling when fighting large fish on deck
Skip if
- Small baitfish or panfish; size 2/0 is too large
- Circle-hook fishing where you need a specific bend
Strengths
- 3X strong high-carbon steel resists breaking on large fish
- Super needle point penetrates hard mouths on big species
- Vacuum-tinned finish resists saltwater corrosion
Trade-offs
- Size 2/0 is smaller than typical saltwater reels and setups
- Single hook catches fewer fish than a treble but is safer
- Vacuum-tinned finish can eventually dull in heavy saltwater use
