Quick take
A 5 mm neoprene cover with triple-stitched seams and Velcro closure for protecting conventional reels.
This small PENN reel cover is a 5 mm neoprene sleeve in black, meant to keep a reel protected in storage or on the way to the water. Triple-stitched seams and hook-and-loop closures hold it in place, and lug cut-out slots let it sit snugly on a conventional or spinning reel. Pick it if you want a simple, lightweight cover sized for smaller PENN reels.
Best for
- Storing reels between fishing trips or seasons
- Protecting reels during vehicle transport
- Saltwater reel storage where corrosion is a concern
Skip if
- You need a cover for a specific non-PENN reel model
- You want a soft bag instead of rigid cover
Strengths
- Thick 5 mm neoprene cushions impacts during storage
- Triple-stitched seams resist tearing
- Lug slots allow secure storage on walls or racks
Trade-offs
- Velcro may weaken with repeated use
- Sized specifically for PENN reels; does not fit all models
- Does not protect reel from moisture; drying required first
Fishing fit
- Water
- Freshwater
- Saltwater
