Quick take

A telescoping polypropylene rod case that extends to 88 inches and collapses to 47 inches for storing and transporting up to eight fishing rods.

The Airliner is a three-section telescoping rod tube in black polypropylene, built for carrying several rods at once. It collapses to 47 inches for travel and extends to 88 inches, with room for up to eight 7-foot rods. A molded handle and a locking device keep the sections in place, which suits anglers who haul a rod collection to the water or on a trip.

Best for

Anglers with multiple 7-foot rods who need portable storage
Transporting rods by car or plane
Protecting rods during storage at home

Skip if

You have fewer than two rods to store
You fish from a kayak and need compact gear

Strengths

Telescoping design lets you extend or collapse based on your space
Holds eight 7-foot rods in organized tiers
Lightweight polypropylene keeps the case portable even when full

Trade-offs

Only fits 7-foot rods; longer rods require a larger case
Polypropylene is less durable than hard cases for heavy use
Once assembled with rods, it becomes long and awkward to store
