Quick take

Medium-size waterproof ABS tackle box with dri-loc gasket seal and pressure-relief valve for protecting tackle from water and sand.

This medium yellow hard case is a single-compartment box for gear that needs to stay dry on a boat, kayak or bank. An O-ring seal and a latch with a pressure release valve close it up, and a soft rubber lining keeps contents from sliding or scratching. It measures about 9 x 4.87 x 3 inches and weighs roughly 0.41 kilograms, so it slips into a bag or jacket pocket.

Best for

  • Boating and saltwater fishing
  • Day-trip tackle storage

Skip if

  • You need multiple compartments for organization
  • You require a crushproof case

Strengths

  • Sealed gasket keeps water and salt spray out
  • Pressure relief valve prevents lid buckling in transit
  • Yellow color visible if dropped overboard

Trade-offs

  • Single compartment requires divider trays for organization
  • Plastic may degrade under extreme sun exposure
  • Weight and size limit portability compared to soft bags
