Quick take
A carbon fiber net with 7.86 ft reach and soft PVC mesh, light enough to use all day.
This is the long version of a telescoping landing net, extending to about 7.86 feet and collapsing to roughly 20.6 inches. The handle is carbon fiber and the whole net weighs about a pound, so it carries easily on a kayak or in a pack. The head folds, uses a coated polyester mesh that is gentle on fish for catch-and-release, and has foam padding that lets the net float if it goes overboard.
Best for
- Kayak fishing where weight and portability matter
- Catch-and-release where gear must be gentle on fish
- Shore and boat fishing where long reach is needed
Skip if
- You fish exclusively from shore and need maximum durability
- You catch very large fish requiring deep mesh
Strengths
- Carbon fiber is 50 percent lighter than aluminum for comfort
- PVC-coated mesh protects fish scales on release
- Tangle-free weave design enables quick netting
Trade-offs
- Small mesh opening may not suit very large fish
- Telescoping mechanism adds complexity vs. fixed nets
