Quick take
A compact folding fly net with rubber mesh and magnetic closure for safe trout catch and release.
A folding landing net sized for trout and bass, with a 16 by 13 inch hoop and a soft rubber mesh that is gentle on the fish and resists tangling with hooks. It extends to 28 inches and collapses to 17, so it packs away on a vest or pack with the included carabiner and magnetic release. A good fit for wading streams, fly fishing from shore, or working from a kayak or boat when you plan to release your catch.
Best for
- Wading streams for trout and bass
- Fly anglers who wade or kayak and need portability
- Catch-and-release fishing where soft mesh prevents damage
Skip if
- You fish saltwater; not recommended for salt
- You need a net for deep-sea fishing or large fish
Strengths
- Rubber mesh is soft on fish and won't tangle flies or leaders
- Magnetic closure keeps net compact for easy carrying and attachment
- Folds to 17 inches for fitting in vests or packs
Trade-offs
- Hoop size is small for catching larger fish over 15 inches
- Rubber mesh is less durable than nylon; can puncture or fray
- Not rated for saltwater use; finish will corrode
