Quick take

Round, smooth braided line with spectra fiber for abrasion resistance and sensitivity on every cast.

Power Pro is a green braided line made from Spectra fiber, sold as a 30 lb spool of 3000 yards. Its low stretch and round, smooth body give anglers direct feel for bites and quick hooksets. A thin diameter for its strength suits anglers fishing heavy cover, deep water and long casts on spinning and baitcasting reels.

Best for

  • Long-distance casting with minimal stretch
  • Fishing heavy cover where abrasion resistance matters
  • High-sensitivity presentations where bite detection is critical

Skip if

  • You prefer monofilament for better knot strength
  • You fish open water where zero stretch creates backlashes

Strengths

  • Spectra fiber construction resists abrasion better than mono
  • Near-zero stretch gives excellent bite detection
  • Thinner diameter than mono of same strength lets reel more line

Trade-offs

  • Braided line can create backlashes with baitcasting reels
  • Knots in braided line slip if not tied correctly
  • High visibility in clear water can spook fish
