Quick take

A 65 lb braided line on a 500 yard spool, woven from Spectra fiber for strength and low stretch.

Power Pro Spectra is a braided line made from Spectra fiber, sold on a 500-yard green spool with a 65 lb breaking strength. It suits anglers who want a braid for spinning or casting reels, including bass and walleye setups.

Best for

  • Saltwater casting and trolling
  • Bass and pike on heavy cover
  • Situations requiring strong, thin line

Skip if

  • You need low-visibility line; braided line is visible underwater
  • You fish with finesse presentations requiring stretch

Strengths

  • Braided line casts far and holds knots reliably
  • Spectra fiber provides excellent strength with minimal diameter
  • Multi-strand weave resists abrasion on rocks and structure

Trade-offs

  • Braided line is highly visible, requiring a leader for clear water
  • It does not stretch, so sudden stops or hard runs stress rod and reel
  • Knots can slip if not tied correctly; use a Palomar or improved clinch knot
