Quick take
Size 1/0 circle octopus hooks forged from high carbon steel with wide gap and offset for catch-and-release live bait fishing.
This is a 25-pack of size 1/0 offset octopus hooks made from high carbon steel with a black nickel finish. The barbed point and offset bend suit soft plastics and live or cut bait on spinning and casting gear. The polished ringed eye keeps the line connection smooth, and the size works for bass, walleye, trout and similar freshwater and saltwater species.
Best for
- Live bait presentations where circle hooks reduce deep hooking
- Saltwater and freshwater bait rigs
- Anglers practicing catch-and-release who want to improve fish survival
Skip if
- You need smaller hooks for panfish or ultralight presentations
- You fish heavy structure where you lose hooks regularly
Strengths
- Wide gap accommodates live baitfish of moderate size
- Circle design hooks fish in corner of mouth, improving survival on release
- 82A high carbon steel with nano nickel finish resists corrosion
Trade-offs
- Circle hook requires slack line for proper hook set; not ideal for active jigging
- Black nickel finish wears off with repeated use in saltwater
- Wide gap makes the hook unsuitable for small plastics or finesse techniques
