Quick take
An aluminum landing net with a clear rubber mesh and Japanese construction, sized for trout and smallmouth bass in streams and ponds.
This compact landing net pairs an aluminum handle and red frame with a clear rubber net, so a hooked fish stays visible as you bring it in. The 27.5 cm net depth and soft rubber mesh suit catch-and-release trout fishing, and the smooth material helps keep lure hooks from tangling. At 12 ounces and about 44 inches long, it is a light, easy-to-carry option for fly anglers working streams.
Best for
- Stream trout fishing
- Smallmouth bass in clear water
- Anglers who want a net that does not spook fish
Skip if
- You target very large pike or catfish
- You need a compact net to backpack
Strengths
- Clear rubber mesh is virtually invisible underwater
- Durable aluminum frame with red finish for visibility
- Cushioned rubber coating protects fish slime and fins
Trade-offs
- Clear rubber can be hard to see and easy to lose overboard
- The 112 cm total length is long and bulky to carry
- Rubber mesh absorbs water and becomes heavy when wet
