Quick take

A large floating basket with tangle-free mesh that keeps live caught fish fresh while fishing in any water.

A foldable floating basket with a square, rubber-coated mesh body that keeps caught fish or bait in the water beside you while you wade, kayak or fish from a boat. Its bright orange color makes it easy to spot on the surface, and the fine mesh lets water circulate. It collapses into a carry bag for the trip home.

Best for

  • Keeping caught fish alive during the day
  • Wade and kayak fishing where a livewell is not available
  • Saltwater and freshwater shore fishing

Skip if

  • You need cold storage or ice; this basket does not insulate
  • You want to release fish with minimal handling

Strengths

  • Float design keeps the basket stable and accessible on water
  • Tangle-free rubber mesh protects fish fins and scales
  • Folds for transport and storage

Trade-offs

  • Requires water access to function; cannot hold fish on land
  • The large size and bright orange color are not subtle when wading or fishing
  • Fish handling remains necessary to add and remove fish
