Quick take

A fully foldable mesh fish basket that floats and holds up to 73 gallons of caught fish.

This is a round, green floating basket made of polyethylene mesh, about 31.4 inches across and 21.6 inches tall. It collapses on its steel rings for carrying, and a drawstring top keeps fish from slipping out. A rope is included, so it can trail beside a kayak, canoe or dock, or sit inside a boat's live well to hold fish or bait alive.

Best for

  • Keeping live-caught fish fresh during a day of fishing
  • Kayak and canoe fishing
  • Both saltwater and freshwater applications

Skip if

  • You need a hard-sided bait storage bucket
  • You do not keep and store fish during trips

Strengths

  • Tangle-free polyethylene mesh keeps caught fish safe from injury
  • Folds completely to 14 inches diameter for compact transport
  • Floats alongside boat, kayak, or canoe for convenient access

Trade-offs

  • Mesh design allows both water flow and risk of small fish escape
  • Large size requires substantial storage space in bag when folded
  • Not suitable for very small fry or delicate species

Fishing fit

Water
  • Freshwater
  • Saltwater
