Quick take

Rotating deck-mount rod holder compatible with multiple reel types for boat and dock use.

This is a deck-mounted rod holder that comes with its StarPort HD base, built for boats where you want a rod parked within reach. The collar rotates a full 360 degrees and tilts through 90 degrees, and it takes baitcasting, spinning, offshore and fly reels. A rotating collar helps keep a rod from being pulled out on a strike, which suits trolling or soaking bait.

Best for

  • Boat fishing with multiple rod setup for trolling or soaking
  • Dock or pier fishing where hands-free rod storage is essential
  • Saltwater applications where corrosion resistance is critical

Skip if

  • You fish from shore where a rod holder is not needed
  • You prefer hand-held rod control for sensitive bite detection

Strengths

  • 360-degree rotation allows pointing rods in any direction as boat moves
  • 90-degree vertical tilt accommodates various rod lengths and power ratings
  • Stainless steel resists saltwater corrosion and holds up long-term

Trade-offs

  • Deck mount requires boat modification or permanent mounting bracket
  • Rotating collar anti-strike theft feature adds complexity and requires adjustment
  • Rod holder occupies deck space that might be needed for movement
