Quick take
A catch-and-release landing net with knotless rubber mesh and a collapsible telescoping handle.
This Ranger Nets 458TS is a knotless landing net with a rubber-coated nylon flat bottom and 3/4-inch mesh openings, so a fish can rest across the bottom while you work the hook free. The 20 by 20 inch black aluminum hoop and telescoping octagon handle, about 29 to 45 inches long, collapse for storage in a kayak, canoe or bass boat. It suits catch-and-release anglers who want a compact net.
Best for
- Bass and large freshwater fish with soft mouths
- Kayak and small boat fishing
- Fishermen prioritizing quick catch-and-release
Skip if
- You fish heavy weeds; design is not weedless
- You need a net for saltwater catfish
Strengths
- Knotless rubber mesh reduces fish injury and speeds releases
- Flat bottom design keeps fish calm while removing hooks
- Collapses to 31x20 in for kayaks and small boats

- Telescoping handle adds complexity compared to fixed designs
- Not ideal for rough handling in tournaments
