Quick take
A hybrid swimbait combining a hard body and flexible soft tail for pike in cold water.
The Rapala X-Rap Peto in Hot Tiger Pike is a 20 cm hybrid swimbait with a hard body and a soft tail, weighing about 2.9 oz. It sinks slowly and swims to about 3.3 feet, which keeps it in the upper water column for large pike.
Best for
- Large pike in deep structure
- Trolling in reservoirs and rivers
- Anglers fishing harsh conditions where pike are sluggish
Skip if
- You prefer lightweight, finesse lures
- You target bass in shallow cover
Strengths
- Soft tail adds subtle action separate from body roll
- 6-point stainless plate tail locking system prevents spin-out
- Spare tail included for field replacement
Trade-offs
- 20cm and 83g require heavy tackle for casting distance
- Hybrid construction may not be as durable as all-hard bodies
- Best suited to large pike, not smaller species

About this type
