Quick take
Extra-wide gap hooks with spring keeper to lock soft plastic swimbaits in straight swimming position.
This is a size 3/0 swimbait hook in a black nickel finish, made from high carbon steel with a needle point. A spring keeper holds a soft plastic swimbait or paddle tail straight on the hook, and the wide gap leaves room for bulky baits. It suits anglers rigging swimbaits, worms or creature baits for bass, including weedless around grass and wood.
Best for
- Rigging paddle tail and swimbait lures weedless
- Bass fishing in grass, wood, and shallow cover
- Anglers who want high hookup rates on soft plastics
Skip if
- You fish hard baits or crankbaits
- You prefer weighted jig heads over hook-and-plastic rigs
Strengths
- Spring keeper maintains lure alignment through multiple casts
- Extra-wide gap clears large soft plastics for solid hooksets
- High-carbon steel resists bending on hard hooksets
Trade-offs
- Spring keeper can stick on tough materials if bent
- Wide gap design leaves more bend stress on the shank
- Requires matching hook size to plastic weight for balance
