Quick take

Size 4/0 offset worm hooks with an extra-long shank designed for rigging large soft plastics and stick baits.

Best for

  • Long 10 to 12 inch worms Texas style
  • 6 to 7 inch stick baits in Carolina or drop-shot rigs
  • Saltwater fluke and swimbait fishing

Skip if

  • You fish small finesse worms; use a smaller hook
  • You fish in heavy weeds; wide-gap hooks snag easily

Strengths

  • Extra-long shank lets you rig large worms and baits
  • Wide gap improves hook-up on shorter strikes
  • Offset point aids the hook when fish turn

Trade-offs

  • Long shank can bend under extreme pressure from large fish
  • Offset design makes it harder to back out of a deeply hooked fish
  • Wide gap catches weeds and brush in heavy cover
