Quick take
A heavyweight fly reel with oversized palming rim and sealed carbon drag for big game fish.
The Redington Grande in 9/10/11 is a large-arbor fly reel machined from anodized T-6061 aluminum, made for big freshwater and saltwater fish. A sealed carbon fiber drag handles long runs, and the V-spool with a backing canal arbor leaves room for 275 yards of 30 lb backing. An oversized palming rim lets you add pressure with your hand while fighting a fish.
Best for
- Large salmon and steelhead
- Saltwater stripers and tarpon
- Anglers needing strong drag and backing capacity
Skip if
- You fish small streams for trout
- You want a lightweight reel for long days
Strengths
- Oversized palming rim and backing capacity handle hard-running fish
- Sealed carbon drag performs smoothly in all conditions
- CNC machined aluminum with optimized reel foot position prevents rod twist
