Quick take

Three spools of RIO Powerflex Plus copolymer nylon tippet in sizes 3X to 5X for fly fishing.

Rio's Powerflex Plus is a nylon copolymer tippet sold as a three-spool pack in 3X through 5X, a fine range for trout and fly fishing. It feels thin for its breaking strength and supple, which suits small dry flies and wet flies. Knots are worth checking after each fish, since the fine diameter asks for care when tying and retying.

Best for

Trout fly fishing in clear water
Anglers tying their own leaders
Fine-presentation fly fishing

Skip if
