Quick take
A 100-yard spool of 20 lb Dacron braided fly line backing with low stretch and smooth weave.
This is a 100-yard spool of orange braided Dacron backing in 20 pound strength, made by RIO for fly reels. Backing sits under the fly line to fill the spool and give a hooked fish room to run. Its multi-strand braid is a common choice for blind splice loops and for knots that sit cleanly. A bright color makes it easy to see how much line has gone out.
