Quick take

A 6 3/4 in topwater lure with weighted tail and sub-surface design for walk-the-dog surface action that creates splashes and disturbance.

Best for

  • Bass hunting in shallow weeds and lily pads at dawn or dusk
  • Creating commotion to trigger aggressive strikes
  • Calm water where surface action is visible

Skip if

  • Water is choppy; the action gets lost in rough conditions
  • You fish deep structure; this lure works only on top

Strengths

  • Weighted tail casts far for a topwater of this size
  • Walk-the-dog action mimics a fleeing baitfish
  • Two trebles increase hookup odds on fast strikes

Trade-offs

  • The weight makes it tiring to retrieve on a long day
  • Requires skilled rod work to walk it properly
  • Size and weight can spook fish in clear, calm water

About this type
